Readers deserve to know who is behind the things they read. This page explains who owns Something Navy, where its money comes from and the rules that keep that money away from what we write.
Who owns Something Navy
Something Navy is published by ASLUCK Studios, a digital publishing company based in London. First launched in 2010, Something Navy was acquired by ASLUCK Studios in 2023. The company has been publishing online since 2015 and owns and operates a number of websites. Something Navy is run as its own title with its own editorial team, and decisions about what we cover are made by that team.
Registered address: ASLUCK Studios, 60 Cannon Street, London, United Kingdom. You can read more about the company at asluckstudios.com.
Something Navy is not owned by, funded by or affiliated with any political party, campaign group, government body, religious organisation, pharmaceutical company or wellness brand.
How we are funded
Something Navy is free to read. The magazine is funded through:
- Display advertising. Ads are served on our pages, including through Google AdSense. Advertisers do not choose which articles their ads appear next to and have no contact with our editorial team.
- Clearly labelled partnerships. From time to time we may work with a brand on a sponsored feature. Any sponsored content will be labelled “Sponsored” or “In partnership with” at the top of the page, and it will never be presented as independent journalism.
We do not accept payment in exchange for coverage, positive reviews, links or the removal of critical reporting.
Editorial independence
- Advertisers, sponsors and ASLUCK Studios’ commercial staff cannot see, approve or change articles before publication.
- We choose topics because readers want to understand them, not because a company has asked us to write about them.
- When we mention a product, book or app, it is because it is relevant to the story. If we ever use affiliate links, we will say so on the page.
- Writers must tell an editor about any personal or financial connection to a person, company or study they write about. Where a conflict cannot be removed, the writer does not take the story.
