It’s been almost 3 years since I started working with Arielle and I still find myself getting the same questions on a weekly basis.
The questions always go as follows: Is she really that nice in person? Is she actually a good singer? Are you guys actually friends? Well I am here to tell you what you should all know about Arielle Charnas.
Going into my interview for Something Navy, I really had no idea what to expect. I was early and saw Arielle and Jane interviewing another candidate – Yes, this made me even more nervous than I already was but those nerves instantly went away when I sat down and we started to talk. 25 minutes into the interview, Arielle practically hired me on the spot. This was the first time I got a real glimpse into how strongly she acts on her gut. This was then followed over the years in interviews with Tara, Anna and Dana (though we made her work a bit more since Tara had joined and had to bring Arielle back down to earth). This trait is something that you need to know and love with Arielle. She gets strong intuitions and to tell you the truth, she is more often than not, right on the money with them (she did hire me after all). It also goes far beyond hiring – this trait helps her determine wardrobe, her friends, her kids names and even Brandon.
So by now, you probably know that Arielle and I are very comfortable with each other. That wasn’t always the case! I remember my first day that I started with Arielle, we were working out of her apartment. I was over an hour early and so scared to go upstairs that I waited in front of her building until Jane found me and probably started to have second thoughts about hiring me (joking). The second we walked into Arielle’s apartment, they started laughing and I knew that although this was going to be a job, I was going to build friendships as well. Once Arielle trusts you, she has no boundaries. I am involved in so many aspects of her life due to the friendship that we have built you couldn’t even imagine. I was one of the first to know when she became pregnant with Esme (heck, I bought all of the tests), I help her shop, and we even call each other when either of us are going through a medical emergency. She’s my boss but also the sister that I never had and yes, I know that is cheesy but the facts are the facts.
What It’s Like To Be A Mom
I guess you could say that after working with Arielle for almost 3 years and 2 kids later, I am more prepared to be a mom than most though it isn’t happening any time soon. I’ve accompanied her on many doctors appointments, sat with her when Esme wouldn’t turn for a certain test and I ate every single meal alongside her which trust me, was not great for my figure. On top of that, I now know all of the best doctors, all of the best brands for food, clothing, strollers, diapers, highchairs – you name it, I know it.
How To: Pick The Perfect Instagram
I am proud to say that I think I have truly mastered this aspect of Arielle’s world. I remember in my first week when I was taught how to take the best picture and I was so bad at it that I think Arielle wanted to fire me. With much practice, I became extremely talented at this and have now been promoted to helping her pick each picture she posts. We are normally on the same page about this and I pride myself on knowing exactly what will perform best. Keep in mind, there are usually 50-100 to choose from so narrowing it down to only 1 is quite difficult. At the end of the day, it really comes down to paying attention to different details – leg placement, background, shadows, etc.
Her Relationship Advice
Last but not least, her dating advice! This is a topic that most of you know and love at this point when it comes to my friendship with Arielle. She not only put me on blast when I became single, she started a GMAIL account for eligible applicants. One date in, I was done. Behind closed doors though, I was going to her each step of the way in different relationships. She helped me get past a break up in the wrong relationship, she helped me date in NYC, which if you have done you know it isn’t easy, and she helped guide me when it came to meeting the right guy and taking the next step. Sometimes I forget that she is a mom and I remember I went on a date with someone I had met on an app. I texted her that my phone was dying and sent her his name and picture in case anything happened. She then proceeded to send this information to MY MOM! Talk about mom moves.
All in all, I have to say that the amount that I have learned and grown as a person since coming to Something Navy and working with Arielle each day cannot be quantified. I feel really fortunate to be able to work with someone each day that is not only an amazing boss but a best friend to me. Others may have a hard time understanding how our relationship works exactly but it does that – just works.
