Looking back, the beauty industry was full of new collabs and launches this summer.
Thanks to elaborate press boxes flooding our Instagram accounts and YouTube tutorials popping up everywhere (welcome to the new beauty world as we know it!) we had a tough time escaping all of the newness. If you were too busy at the beach or traveling around the country for back-to-back weddings and missed a few, don’t worry – we’ve got you covered! Check out some of the recent beauty launches we’re still excited about now.
Obviously, one of the most highly-anticipated drops of the season (and maybe of the year?!) was Kylie Skin. It was her first foray into the more serious world of skincare, compared to her mainstay presence in the lip color and palette space and people are really, really pumped about it. All her products are listed as cruelty free, gluten free, paraben free, sulfate free and vegan, which is always something to write home about.
KKW Body Collection
This summer, we learned that body makeup is actually a thing. Kim has always been vocal about her insecurities when it comes to her psoriasis and designed a formula that is thick enough to cover any type of skin blemish or unevenness, psoriasis or not. Miraculously, fans of the product swear that her product doesn’t transfer onto your clothes, a huge selling point when you’re slathering it all over as directed.
Pat McGrath Labs BlitzTrance Lipstick
Pat McGrath’s BlitzTrance collection is designed to add pigment to your lips in one fell swoop. Gone are the days of going back and forth to get the color just right. Shades come in a glitter finish and a shimmer finish so you can pick your poison and be on your way. P.S. like always, the packaging does NOT disappoint.
Cuvée Champagne-Infused Hair and Body Glow
Cuvée Beauty is known for loading all their products up with champagne, after the founder was doused by a champagne shower in Vegas and realized her hair looked… AMAZING. Their latest illuminator adds the perfect amount of hydrating shimmer and shine and can be used on both your hair and body to get that summer glow, even after Labor Day. Try it for yourself or gift it to that friend who is always up for the party.
Glossier Holographic Lip Gloss
It’s safe to say we are down to try anything Glossier comes out with. This summer they updated their lip gloss and reintroduced a new formula that, in their words, “took everything you love about lip gloss, got rid of everything you don’t, and formulated the perfect Lip Gloss.” We’re loving their Holographic tint that adds an opalescent shimmer, aka the perfect finishing touch to your look.
Colourpop x Halo Top Collection
What’s your flavor? Cult-favorite Colourpop launched an ice cream-inspired summer collection with Halo Top that is as adorable as it sounds. Choose from classic flavors like Strawberry, Mint Chip, Rainbow Swirl and Birthday Cake and get a shimmer and a shadow in each ice cream-shaped package. Hurry before they melt sell out!
Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Mattifying Primer
Ever wanted an Instagram filter, but for your face? Same! Leave it to RiRi to come up with the product of our dreams in this new primer that helps makeup blend better, last longer and of course, makes you look smooth as can be.
Beauty brands are constantly coming up with new launches and products to grab our attention and thanks to the power of social media and influence all around us, they’re hard to ignore. We’re always excited to try the latest whatever, even if we didn’t know we needed it in the first place! And THAT is certainly a testament to the power of beauty marketing… which is a different story altogether!
