Small Business Spotlight: Home Edition

Today, we’re spotlighting our favorite small businesses that sell home goods. From Arielle’s go-to stationery company to an incredible artist who creates ceramic balloons for your home, take a look at these small businesses below.

The 8th Drifter: The 8th Drifter is a home goods shop located in Montauk. Founded in 2018, their carefully curated selection of goods features handmade pieces created by artisans around the world, from hand-poured candles from Nashville to beaded baskets made in Kenya. The 8th Drifter also sells plantable paper goods created out of recycled paper and wildflower seeds–you can actually plant the card in soil and see sprouts in a few weeks!

ChappyWrap: ChappyWrap is a blanket company that was founded by a mother-daughter duo on a mission to create the best blanket in the world. Their designs are a unique blend of cotton fibers and acrylic for an extra-soft feel, and they’re available in classic patterns like herringbone or a whimsical lobster print. Plus they have the cutest kids collection!

Biscuit Home: Bailey McCarthy started Biscuit Home in 2012 because she wanted to create heirloom-quality bedding for the modern shopper. Biscuit Home has beautiful linens for every space in your home, from printed pillows with scalloped hems to cute cocktail napkins.

Sarah Elle Home: Home decor brand Sarah Elle Home was founded by Sarah Lati in 2013. Sarah Elle Home creates beautiful and unique placemats in a range of designs and colors to elevate your tabletop. There’s a cherry blossom print perfect for spring and a giraffe print design for the animal print lovers!

AnnSandra: Arielle bought all of her dishes from AnnSandra, and the company is also Arielle’s go-to for a housewarming or host gift. AnnSandra specializes in bridal registry services–it’s one-stop shopping for all of your home-related needs!

Cheree Berry Paper: This is Arielle’s go-to company for stationery, thank you cards, and all of her paper products. Cheree Berry Paper creates customized stationery with fun prints and designs, along with beautiful sets of stationery.

Sivan Sternbach Art: Arielle has ceramic balloons created by the artist Sivan Sternbach on display in her home, and they’re one of her absolute favorite pieces. The girls love them too, and they make a beautiful addition to a playroom or nursery!

Pepper: This female-founded home textile company is known for its beautifully-made patterns and prints. In response to Covid-19, Pepper teamed up with their manufacturing partners to produce cloth masks for medical professionals. You can donate masks to a frontline worker through Pepper or purchase a mask for personal use


Ovando: Ovando is a floral design company that creates flowers for special events or just everyday life. The company is female-founded and operated, and has botanical galleries in New York and Southampton 

Parallel Designs: Parallel Designs is a home decor, design, and gift boutique. This female-founded business specializes in a carefully-curated selection of luxury items for your home. 

Weezie Towels: Weezie Towels creates luxury organic cotton bath towels. The female-founded company is based in Savannah, and their products are made in a family-owned and operated factory in Portugal. 

July: July is a direct-to-consumer air conditioner company based in NYC. July revamped traditional window air conditioner units into sleek, seamless designs for your home. Their products improve on efficiency, and the company is committed to mitigating its environmental impact as well. 

Mud Pie: Mud Pie is a giftware company founded by Marcia Miller. They specialize in gifts for the home, and they have a wide selection available for specific holidays or celebrations. 

Di Lucca Design: Home decor and paint company Di Lucca Design is known for selling Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, a unique decorative paint that will elevate your interior space. 

Indochine Maison: Wendy Yang founded Indochine Maison because she wanted to share unique, original pieces of home decor inspired by destinations around the world. The company is dedicated to sustainability: the products are made from hardwood harvested from their own plantation, and Indochine Maison has a zero-waste policy. 

Salt & Sundry: Salt & Sundry is a home and lifestyle boutique founded by Amanda McClements. They sell an eclectic mix of goods sourced from more than 120 independent makers and designers

Domani Home: This home boutique located in Lakewood, New Jersey has a carefully curated selection of brands and products available. Their bedding and bath collections are top-notch.

New York Paper Flowers: This company creates elaborate flower walls you can rent for special events–all created out of hand-cut paper-made flowers. Right now, they are selling a Covid-19 relief rose, and they’re donating 50% of the proceeds to Feeding America.

John Dabbs LTD: John Dabbs specializes in bridal registries and gifts, and has been in business for over 40 years. Their store is located in Charlotte, North Carolina, and their online store has a range of home goods available, from flatware and table linens to accent pieces. It’s basically one-stop shopping for a hostess looking for classic homewares!
