It’s rare that you’ll find us outside without sunglasses, 365 days a year.
We recently had the chance to check out The Vision Council’s Vision Expo in NYC. The event is essentially fashion week for the eyewear industry and showcases the latest trends from both well-known fashion brands and emerging independent designers. We explored hundreds of eyewear lines and are so excited to share our findings. Here are 3 upcoming trends that quite literally caught our eye:
One of our favorite trends was the marriage of synthetic and natural materials within a single frame. Take Shwood for example, where we saw mushrooms and seashells add texture to traditional eyewear shapes. We love that this trend is both sustainable and chic.
Major Cat Eye
We can confirm the cat eye is here to stay. Many brands showcased exaggerated cat eye shapes for their upcoming collections. Our favorite designs in this style were from Gigi Barcelona, the fashion forward Spanish brand that will finally be available stateside later this year. We’re already counting down to launch!
Blue Light Blockers
Our daily screen time is at an all-time high, and we admire the emerging solutions to protect our delicate eyes from potentially harsh blue light. Fashion shifts to health conscious when it comes to this trend, with several brands providing options that add both protection and style.
Thank you to The Vision Council for hosting us and sponsoring this post.
