Fly in Fashion

Between weddings, bachelorette parties, and summer trips, travel is constant on my calendar.

Packing is typically an activity I dread and takes me hours longer than I expect. Not only do I pay close attention to planning the right vacation outfits, but my airport style is particularly important. My ideal overall “look” can be described as “comfortable and cute”, “cozy chic”, “tired but trendy”…you get the picture.

In my opinion, the recipe for the perfect travel outfit starts with a basic cotton tee. I pair a t-shirt with a comfortable bottom, or jumpsuit, that embodies an “athleisure” feel and a flat shoe or sneaker. Layering is a must for both comfort and fluctuating plane temperatures, which I accomplish via a lightweight cardigan or sweatshirt. Regardless if I check a bag or not, I maximize the amount of items I carry-on. I always travel with a tote that can not only fit all of my in-flight necessities, but preferably can double as a beach or day bag. Top it off with a hat (or in my case, the occasional visor) of your choice so that it stays in tack during the hustle of the travel day. If anyone has a better solution for traveling with a hat, please DM me immediately.

A stop I always make prior to any flight is to Hudson News so I can snag all of the current magazines; admittedly, a guilty pleasure of mine is celebrity fashion and pop culture news. Take a look at some of my favorite celebrity airport looks below!

Gigi Hadid

There is nothing quite as comfortable as cashmere on a flight! I love this neutral look for travel. Top your tapered sweats with a long coat and scarf (that could even double as a blanket) to be ready to go once you land.

Irina Shayk

I love the pajama to the street trend. What better place to embrace it than the airport? You can travel in style while looking chic and comfortable. Irina Shayk has mastered this look with her sleek accessories and white sneakers!

Karlie Kloss

This is the perfect look for a long flight taking you to colder climates. The camel and black combo feels sophisticated, helping you feel put together even after the longest travel day. Not to mention, I am a major advocate of the top knot hairstyle!
