Binge Worthy Shows

Staying in? Can’t sleep? Here are some of the best shows for taking a mental break…you’re welcome.

1

New Girl:

New Girl is THE perfect show to watch when you have an ample amount of time. Each episode is less than 30 minutes and full of on-point humor. You can watch one, or ten episodes at once. I’ll sit in bed and crack up at the quirky and relatable nature of the relationships and personalities (especially Schmidt)! Been watching for a month and I’m already on season four – oops! (Watch on Fox or Netflix)

2

The Crown:

My boyfriend suggested that I watch The Crown , and I ended up loving it. When I started, I found myself totally wrapped up in the Royal world and the true events the show is based on. I loved that I was getting a quasi history lesson, as well. It’s definitely not an ideal show to binge-watch because each episode is pretty heavy plot-wise. One (maybe two) at a time is my max. (Watch on Netflix)

3

How To Get Away with Murder:

How to Get Away With Murder is an all-time favorite of mine. It got so much buzz when it first aired, and understandably so. Shonda Rhimes continues to create shows that pull me in, and leave me with cliffhangers that keep me coming back week after week. Viola Davis gives an amazing performance (are you surprised?), and who doesn’t love a good mystery? (Watch on ABC)

4

Queer Eye:

Queer Eye is such an amazing show to binge, but make sure to have tissues nearby. Not only does it pull at your heartstrings, but it gets you genuinely invested in each person that the ‘Fab Five’ work with. It’s a feel-good, mindless show that’s great for taking a mental break, or generally restoring your faith in humanity. (Watch on Netflix)

5

The Handmaid’s Tale:

INCREDBILE. I felt emotions during this series that I never knew I could. I have to warn you, the show is graphic and tough to watch at times, but it’s impossible to stop watching as the characters and the plot develop. If you don't like “dark” shows-The Handmaid’s Tale might not be for you; however, the writing and performances are so incredible, I’d recommend giving it a shot anyways. (Watch on Hulu)
