One of the most common questions I get asked to this day is about my makeup/beauty regimen. I wish I had an eloquent answer with all the necessary steps I take when I wake up and before I go to bed.. but alas, I don’t. To be quite honest, I’ve never been a beauty buff and into testing out the new craze of products–until now. I’ve come to realize that even if you’re a minimalist when it comes to makeup, it’s important to understand technique and the right products you use to achieve a look, even if it’s just to look fresh-faced.
I was actually inspired by a close friend of mine who just recently gave birth (this is in fact how I learn about all my new products–through friends and family who give me their beauty advice and product obsessions). Every time I saw her, she looked radiant and glowing. Yes she had the new mom glow, but even after a sleepless night, she somehow looked like she had a full night’s sleep! When she let me in on her secret of “brightening her eyes” with some concealer, I figured it was as confusing and as difficult as the whole contouring thing. She introduced me to Cle de Peau Beauté who has the most incredible products that are perfect for me and my aesthetic with skincare and makeup. When I learned that this routine to hide dark circles and achieve brighter eyes was effortless and only took a few minutes, I was hooked.. and so happy I now know this amazing beauty tip. This is perfect for me in time for when baby arrives–I’ll still be able to look fresh faced and presentable even when I’m not feeling at my best and exhausted from waking up multiple times in the middle of the night. Phew! Give it a try at home–it’s so easy, I promise!
Step 1: Cleanse your face and apply your everyday moisturizer
Step 2: Apply Cle de Peau Beauté’s Brightening Eye Serum in circular motions around your area with your fingertips (you can see how here: http://www.cledepeaubeaute.com/how-to-brighten-eyes)
Step 3: Using a concealer brush, apply a concealer that has a tint of orange to offset the blueness under the eyes (I use Cle de Peau Beauté Concealer in shade Honey but if you don’t have an additional concealer color, you can use the one color you have since Cle de Peau Beauté concealer has great converage) to the outline of your dark circle and spread it to the lower lid (http://www.cledepeaubeaute.com/how-to-brighten-eyes)
Step 4: Apply a concealer that matches your skintone (I use Almond) using the brush, covering the area under the eyes and the inner corner of the eyes
